Following is the breakdown of the third quarter civil rights research project in Mr. Randy Turner's eighth grade communication arts class at East Middle School:
Thesis Statement- Students will explain their research project in three-quarters of a page. 100 points
First Draft- The first draft of the research paper must be at least 1,000 words. It is worth 200 points.
Final Draft- The final draft is worth 300 points
100 points for research
100 points for writing
100 points for proper preparation of the paper
Bibliography- Bibliography is worth 100 points
Multi-Media Project- worth 100 points. A poster, collage, power point or movie about the topic
Oral Presentation- Students will give an oral presentation, worth 100 points, on their topics.
Completing Assignments on Time- Students will receive an extra 10 points for each of the parts of the project they accomplish on time. Possibility of receiving 60 points.
Stutents begin project with 40 of the 1,000 points
